EastEnders' spin-off show Secrets From The Square celebrates Walford legend Martin Fowler in the next episode.
The soap favourite, who has been played by actor James Bye since 2014, has been on the BBC soap since the very first year.
Not only that, but Martin was Albert Square's first ever baby born on the soap to Pauline and Arthur Fowler in August 1985, with him being the younger brother of Michelle and Mark.
Born into one of the show's original and most famous families, it's no wonder he's remained a key character on the soap 35 years later - having been at the centre of some huge storylines.
While his face has changed over the years, so has his character. Here's some of his biggest and most life-changing moments during his time on the show...
One of his biggest storylines over the years was the reveal that he was the father of teen Sonia Jackson's baby.
After being unaware of her pregnancy, the character aged 15 gave birth to young Rebecca, originally named Chloe, in 2000.
Sonia was mortified as she went into labour, unsure what was wrong only to be told by Mo Harris she was having a baby.
Martin was stunned to learn he was the father, while the young parents decided to place her up for adoption.
After reuniting years later, the couple tracked her down after her adoptive parents died and they became her legal guardians.
Martin has suffered huge loss over the years, with his father, mother and brother all dying on the show.
Arthur passed away from a brain haemorrhage in 1996 after sustaining a head injury in prison.
His wife Pauline suffered a similar fate in 2006, when she was hit over the head with a frying pain by partner Joe.
On Christmas Day, she too suffered a brain haemorrhage and collapsed in the Square.
Two years earlier, Martin's older brother Mark died off screen from an AIDS-related illness.
Martin survived his own tragedy not that long ago, when he was hit by a bus.
In 2019 he was left in turmoil, when teen daughter Bex Fowler attempted to take her own life.
She sought help for her mental health issues, and after almost dying a year later after taking dodgy pills she set off for a new life travelling around the world.
Jamie Mitchell's death
One of Martin's most shocking storylines has to be when he ran over and killed Jamie Mitchell in 2002.
He accidentally ran him over as Jamie was buying girlfriend Sonia some flowers, with the character rushed to hospital.
Shortly after proposing to Sonia on Christmas Day, the character's health deteriorated and he passed away - with it said he had suffered spleen damage.
Martin revisited the storyline years later during a conversation with daughter Bex, where he called it the biggest mistake of his life.
After passing out drunk at Angie's Den barmaid Sarah Cairn's house in 2004, she tricked him into believing they had slept together.
Martin had been at the club with his mates and got very drunk, only for Sarah to take him back to hers and put him in her bed.
Being married to Sonia he was mortified, and told her it was a mistake - but she began stalking him.
Things escalated when she began harassing the family and even hurt Pauline, leading to Martin threatening her and getting arrested.
But events spiralled to a deadly showdown when Sarah, armed with knife, threatened to kill Sonia if Martin didn't leave with her.
It's then that she confessed Martin slept in her bed but they didn't have sex, leading to a scuffle with Martin being stabbed.
Sonia took her down by hitting her over the head with a fruit bowl.
In 2014, Martin returned to the Square after around seven years away with a new face.
Actor James Bye took over from previous cast member James Alexandrou who quit the role and did not wish to return.
James has been in the role ever since, while James Alexandrou played him from 1996.
Before this, he was portrayed by original actor Jon Peyton-Price.
Unlucky in love
Martin Fowler's love life has often started out well before crashing apart in his time in the Square.
His first wife was Sonia Fowler, and the pair were pretty on and off over the years before finally splitting.
They even recently reunited very briefly, before breaking up again - with him now tipped for romance with Ruby Allen.
Asides the odd fling over the years, his second wife was Stacey Fowler.
She broke his heart in 2015 when he realised that their newborn baby Arthur was in fact his best mate Kush Kazemi's child.
Martin stuck by her though, and they made their marriage work and raised Arthur together - before having a baby daughter named Hope in 2017.
But there was turmoil around the corner, when Stacey cheated on Martin with former flame Max Branning during Christmas 2017.
The fling was exposed during dramatic Christmas scenes, leading to him suggesting she leave. Stacey ended up taking a break from Walford, but took the kids with her.
On her return he kept her out of the house and stopped her from seeing the kids, even trying to get custody.
This went on for some time, but the pair did eventually reunite - and were forced to flee Walford in 2019 when she hit Phil Mitchell over the head and left him for dead.
Martin returned before her after Bex's overdose, and was blackmailed by Phil's son Ben into carrying out criminal activity.
He was forced to keep her away from Walford after Ben threatened to hurt her and the kids, so Martin lied that he had slept with Sonia to keep her from coming back.
This led to their split, with Stacey very quickly moving on with a new man - but she is set to return to the Square very soon.
Trouble with the Mitchells
Martin has often had trouble with the Mitchells ever since he killed Jamie.
His beef with Phil kicked off in 2007 after the death of his mother Pauline, with Sonia prime suspect.
Sonia asked Phil for his help in fleeing Walford and taking her daughter with her, to which he obliged.
As revenge, Martin kidnapped little Ben Mitchell and dangled him from the bridge over the market which features a train track.
This was revisited in 2019 when Martin got caught up with the Mitchells once more, after Stacey almost killed Phil.
To keep Stacey and the kids safe, Martin was blackmailed into carrying out criminal activity for a now grown up Ben.
Ben also had his heavies dangle Martin over the same bridge to get back at him, before forcing him to murder Keanu Taylor on Christmas Day.
Of course Martin helped Keanu fake his own death but convinced the Mitchells he had done it - leading to Keanu's return and final showdown with the family in February this year.
EastEnders airs Secrets From The Square on Mondays at 8pm, and classic episodes on Tuesdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
