Kate Garraway issued a positive update on husband Derek Draper after her first day back on Good Morning Britain.
The GMB host, 53, thanked her "patient" co-stars after she returned to work for the first time since Derek was hospitalised in March with coronavirus.
Derek, 52, regained consciousness last week after doctors took him out of his induced coma, but he is still in care.
However, Kate has since warned that any celebrations over him waking up are premature - and that Derek still has a long road to recovery.
Taking to Instagram after her first day back at work alongside co-host Ben Shephard, Kate had some positive words about Derek's "stable" condition.
She wrote: "Well I survived my 1st day back without crashing the show thanks to the brilliant @benshephardofficial , the whole wonderful @gmb team & all of YOUR patience!!
"Thanks so much for your incredibly kind messages. Means such a lot . Derek had a stable day too so . See you at 6 a.m tomorrow xxx."
Last week, Kate spoke to colleagues Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid in the studio about her husband Derek.
In the emotional interview, Kate said that her children - Billy, 11, and Darcey, 14 - had "effectively lost their dad".
Explaining that Derek was in a "a minimum state of consciousness" at the moment, she continued: "His eyes are opening but we don't know what state of consciousness he has."
Kate revealed that she had spoken to a doctor at the hospital : "They said that that [he] was as sick as anyone [they've] seen in 35 years of working here".
She added: "Six times they said 'he's not going to make it'.
"It is a very desperate situation, its very difficult situation. It is a miracle he's still alive."
However, Kate became tearful as she spoke about her children.
"Darcey and Billy have effectively lost their dad," she said. "Oh god, I'm going to cry... it was such a happy time after the jungle."
Mum-of-two Kate received a rallying cry from none other that Piers himself, which she said had helped in her darkest times.
"We've talked about the most terrible things imaginable," said Piers. "The potential of losing Derek. And you've somehow held it together... although that's not always been the case."
"I did say to you I'm absolutely losing it you're going to have to give me a massive pep talk," said Kate.
"And then you took a breath and gave me this rallying - I almost swore then - you were almost telling me off. But in the nicest possible way..."
